Exhaust and Cooling

3/11/16:

I had previously changed out my stock catalytic converter for a high flow Magnaflow 99355HM (heavy metal) and added an 02 port just before the converter for my AFR gauge. Plan to install the exhaust this weekend.

Welded ($30 local exhaust shop) and painted (to slow rust) with o2 port ($20):

First try with band clamps and a standard clamp:

Quite a difference in the stock (20″) vs. Magnaflow (~14″), I didn’t have a scale to weigh them. I sold the old converter to a recycler in TX for $100, after shipping and buying a tube I ended up with $85 and the Magnaflow was bought on sale with a coupon for ~$80 so I broke even and ended up with a freer flowing cat that’s also lighter.

Also for install this weekend (hopefully the rain isn’t constant) i’ll also install the new CSF radiator I got from Fab9 during their Black Friday sale in November.

I have upper/lower Gates hoses and 185* thermostat to install from RockAuto also. That’ll get most of the cooling system up to par for the Supercharger install. I’ll do the oil filter base cooling hoses when I get the intake off for SC install.
